For most families, the 4th of July marks the unofficial to official beginning of summer. It’s a weekend-long party spent celebrating with your closest friends and family. Unfortunately, the uncertain circumstances of COVID-19 will cause a dramatic change in festivities this year. That doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate safely, though. Check out these Cape May attractions to make this 4th of July memorable!
There’s nothing wrong with skipping the hassle of cooking for your family and friends this holiday weekend. Cape May’s finest indoor and outdoor dining facilities will be open and treating you to delectable 4th of July cookout food or any other cuisine you desire. Here’s a list of our favorites!
Make sure you call ahead to ask about reservations and safety requirements!
When thinking about some of the most beautiful beaches on the Jersey shore, Cape May is somewhere near the top of the list. This lovely shore town has crystal clear ocean waters and two miles of boardwalk attractions. You can sit back and relax on the beach or check out the latest entertainment venues on the boardwalk. Either way, it’s a great place to spend the 4th of July! We personally love bringing the backyard BBQ with us with a homemade picnic for all our friends and family to enjoy.
What’s the perfect drink to accompany an outdoor BBQ? A nice, cold beer, of course! Luckily, Cape May Brewing Co. is a short drive away from the shore. Famous for its amazing beer selection, Cape May Brewing Co. is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. Better yet, they are still open every day from noon to 7:00 p.m. to serve! Although their tasting room is unfortunately off-limits at the moment, you and your friends can still enjoy their stunning Beer Garden.
Just a short trek away from your favorite Cape May attractions is Morey’s Piers and Beachfront Water Parks. Located on the Wildwoods Boardwalk, this classic seaside amusement park is the perfect place for a day of fun and relaxation. Morey’s Piers features amusement rides and water parks that are suitable for all ages.
Ready for the best news? They will be open just in time for Independence Day celebrations! Starting on July 2nd, Morey’s Piers will pick up where they left off, with outdoor dining, games, and more. Their team has revamped all safety and cleanliness procedures, so families can enjoy their facilities in confidence. If you’re planning on celebrating the 4th here, we have a Wildwood beach house waiting for you to book.
If you’re looking for a unique way to kick off Independence Day celebrations, you can visit Vendors in the Park. A one-day-only event hosted by the Macedonia Baptist Church, this outdoor market features an assortment of fascinating crafts and drool-worthy cuisine. The event runs from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on July 4th.
If you’re planning on spending the holiday weekend away, turn to Shore Summer Rentals for the best accommodations in Cape May and the surrounding areas. The owners of our vacation rentals are taking great care to have their NJ beach houses professionally cleaned and sanitized before and after new tenants. You can have peace of mind that you and your family are safe while enjoying a mini-vacation from the everyday stress of life.
