From Then to Now: The Origin Story

For those of you who don’t know the story, Shore Summer Rentals started out as one couple’s dream to connect Jersey Shore beach house owners with prospective renters looking for an affordable vacation home rental.

At the time (2003), Maria, owner and founder of Shore Summer Rentals, and her husband were both struggling to find success with their Wildwood, NJ, condo rental. After using a realtor and finding little success, the couple decided to start their own vacation rental platform dedicated to the Jersey Shore. Thus, Shore Summer Rentals was born and, slowly but surely, it expanded to include the surrounding beaches we know and love, Delaware Beach and Ocean City, MD.

Maria’s passion for connecting people is as evident today as it was 17 years ago. As a working woman and mother herself, she understands the importance of affordable vacations better than anyone else. After all, what’s the sense in using all your savings for a short getaway when they can be put towards better things? Maria’s goal is to provide everyone with the option of finding a beautiful vacation rental in New Jersey and parts of Delaware and Maryland without the ugly hidden fees that many sites, like AIRBNB and VRBO, like to use.

This philosophy has led Shore Summer Rentals to become such a popular tool for property owners and tourists alike.
