Stripe Transaction Fees

As part of our integration with Stripe Connect, each payment processed through the platform includes a standard 4.8% + 30¢ transaction fee. This fee supports secure, reliable, and efficient payments for both you and your guests.

When sending a payment request, you have the option to include this fee in the total amount billed to your guest. Just be sure to let them know that even with this small fee, booking through SSRNJ.com is still up to 20% more affordable than using platforms like VRBO or Airbnb.

Important Info:

United States Currency
For transcations in the United States, Stripe charges the host a 4.8% convenience fee, + 30¢ transaction fee, which you can pass on to the guest. In order to fully cover the 4.8% Stripe fee, you actually need to charge 5.2% + 30¢ transaction fee, on top of your total—not just 4.8%. This is because Stripe takes 4.8% of the entire amount charged, including any extra you add to cover the fee.

US Example:
If you want to receive exactly $3,000 after fees, you would need to charge the guest $3,151.57, plus a 30¢ transaction fee. Stripe takes 4.8% of $3,151.57 (which is $151.57), leaving you with your full $3,000. Charging 5.2% ensures you’re not losing money to fees and are collecting the full amount you intended.

International Currency Conversion
For transactions outside of the United States, Stripe charges 4.8%, PLUS an additional 1% fee on non-US accounts, PLUS an additional 1% fee for currency conversion transactions, for a total of 6.8%, + 30¢ transaction fee.  In order to fully cover the 6.8% Stripe fee, you actually need to charge 7.24%, + 30¢ transaction fee on top of your total—not just 6.8%. This is because Stripe takes 6.8% of the entire amount charged, including any extra you add to cover the fee.

International Example:
If you want to receive exactly $3,000 after fees, you would need to charge the guest $3,217.20, plus a 30¢ transaction fee. Stripe takes 6.8% of $3,217.20 (which is $217.20), leaving you with your full $3,000. Charging 7.24% ensures you’re not losing money to fees and are collecting the full amount you intended.
